| Welcome all friends of the pointing dog breed, The German Wirehaired Pointer Club of Central Oregon (GWPCCO) was established in February of 2003 due to the growing interest in the breed in the area. While the club’s main focus is German Wirehaired Pointers, we welcome all pointing breeds. This is currently the only organized sporting dog club in central Oregon. The GWPCCO is American Kennel Club (AKC) licensed and has held hunt tests, field trials, and water tests. These events draw in many participants from Oregon, Washington, and California. Our objectives are to protect, preserve, and educate the public about the sport and tradition of game bird hunting with the use of pointing dogs. For several years, the GWPCCO has maintained a booth at the Central Oregon Sportsman's Show to help in this endeavor. We have sponsored five dog training seminars conducted by local professional trainers and nationally recognized dog trainers. As a non-profit AKC licensed dog club, we rely on the volunteer efforts of our membership to hold raffles and other fundraising events needed to fund the special projects and sporting dog events in which the club participates. Throughout the year, our members may seek raffle-item donations from local area businesses who share our passion for this sport. Proceeds derived from club raffles keep the club active and operational, and we appreciate your support. Design: Silke Easom mailto |
